Sick and Tired of being Sick and Tired!

Great, Chris went to the doctor yesterday because he was feeling bad, (gunk in his lungs, sweating, chills, etc.) and Conan was up all night fighting the green snot monster. I have no voice and my throat is raw. It seems like we have been more sick this last year than ever before. I am ready to feel good for a long time.

Turns out Taylor got a part in the musical after all. She is one of Sarah's mission girls. This part requires some singing and dancing. She was really happy and so was I. I am looking forward to seeing the play. She went to her first dance on Friday at the school. She had a great time and did what she was supposed to do. Small steps of trust are a good thing.

I can't believe it is almost Labor day. We have no plans yet, I know Chris wants to work on the car some before I go to Stillwater next week. The front needs new break pads and the steering wheel vibrates when you get to 70 miles.

We have our last swing dance lesson this Thursday. We have really enjoyed them. The instructor is so sweet and a great teacher. However, we must practice practice practice. Even though we know the steps and the pattern, we are still very awkward. O-well the fun is "having" to practice all the time, right? Chris is such a good sport. I must come up with an equally good birthday gift for him.

PAIN!!!

Ok so I know how to roller blade...you would think anyway. When Chris and I were dating we roller bladed all the time...never fell, NOT ONCE. So, two years and a nine pound baby later we give it a go. MAJOR mistake. We were coasting along and we start down this tiny hill, turn the corner and BAM!!! right on my left thigh. Holy Cow concrete is hard and rough nothing like having a few layers of skin torn off in two seconds, not to mention the huge welt/bruise left behind. O-well I guess I will just have to be careful next time. (sorry for the image, but I had to share)

Chris and Taylor are back in the swing of school. Taylor tried out for a part in the musical "Guys and Dolls" She was emotional as her hormones were going crazy but I was proud of her for giving it all she had. Joy helped with her song and gave her some great pointers. Her 13th birthday is in a few weeks. She is having a few friends over for a slumber party. We are going to take them to the movies and order pizza.
Chris has to study quite a bit for school so we won't see him as much. I keep telling myself it is only for a little while and the payoff is worth it. I am super proud of him.

Conan is getting braver everyday. He will stand up, let go and walk all over the place. It is a hoot watching him learn this new trick. He waves his hands straight up in the air. I love being a mom!! He will be ONE in exactly 9 weeks. I already have his invitations designed and the party plans all ready to go.

August 17th

Conan found my hat in the closet and played with it for 30 minuets. Man if I knew all he wanted was a stinky hat I would have given it to him a long time ago.

Taylor started school yesterday and I think she had a good day. It is always nice to have the first day out of the way. They are going to be more strict this year about late homework. Yay...this will help me out a bunch. Now I am not the only person to hold her accountable.

It looks as though Cassy is going to be moving out in January so we need to start looking for an apartment. We will only be here for another year and then off to Stillwater so Chris can finish his Ph.D. I think it is a wonderful opportunity for Chris and I am happy we are in the position for him to finish. I am so proud of him!! Living in Stillwater for a couple of years will be good for the kids. Granny is there and we will be able to see her and spend more time with her. I aslo have friends up there and it will be nice to be close again.

Kendie and Joe are so sweet. Kendie called me yesterday and offered to send Conan some of their movies. They are going to pick their favorites and send them our way. THANKS A MILLION!! WE love you!!!

Quiet Baby

I just love it when he sleeps on his tummy. He looks huge in this picture.

We had a great weekend. We went to Sams, Chris fixed his truck, I cleaned a little, Chris and I went to a surprise birthday party for his mentor at work, and we went to Joy and Brians for hamburgers last night.

Taylor starts school tomorrow and we STILL have to get school supplies. Her Dad did however, take her to get her new shoes she has been wanting.

Taylor promised me this was going to be her best year yet. She said she is going to try her best to stay out of trouble and get good grades. I am goingto hold her to it. I know she can do it. I just need to be patient and have some faith. --Good luck girlie:)

We had a fun time at Tangelwood for our anniversay. We didn't do anything special, just watched movies, slept late, relaxed and ate. It was a great break!!!

Cheese Ball

Ok my son learned a new trick....How to be cheesey. All you have to do is look at him and that is what you get. (Yes he does have a big gap between his teeth) He had his 9 month check up today and everything is great. He took about 8 steps across the living room all by himself. We are about to have us a walker.

I had a really great time with my Mom and Conan was good for her while Chris and I were gone. We had a nice relaxing trip to Tanglewood resort. It was the first time I spent a night away from the baby. Two whole nights of peacfull rest and sleeping in. It was WONDERFUL.

I am taking the kids to Hawaiian Falls in the morning. Maybe the sun will do us some good.

Taylor starts school on Tuesday and we still have to buy school supplies. Talk about waiting till the last minuet. The summer went by so fast. Soccer starts next month and she is eager to play.

Chris and I start swing dance lessons this Thursday...wish us luck. (I am super excited, he is..well, going.)what a trooper!
