Conan and Granny

This is my mother in law, Debbie. The kids call her "Granny," even Rylee calls her that. Debbie is awesome. She held Conan at his first birthday while he took a nap and missed out on all the action. Debbie and Cole are going to come down for Easter-I am really excited. I don't know why, but I can't wait for Easter.
Chris, Taylor, and Conan all look like Debbie's side of the family. You can't tell their baby pictures apart. It is so sweet.
Thanks for everything you do.

Nana's Little Prince

My Mom sent us home with this shirt for Conan. I put him in it the other day and he kept saying, "Nana, Nana" I am sad that we don't get to see my Florida family very often, but it is really nice to have pictures and even tee-shirts to remind us of them.
We miss you guys!

This is my Mom with Conan at 5 months

Little Buddies

On Tuesday, Joy and Jake came over for a visit and Conan decided to get down and chat with Jake. It was really cute. Jake, (6.5 months) was trying hard to talk back with his sweet baby noises. Conan has been waiting a long time to get to play with Jake, and I know he is excited now that Jake is getting bigger.

Weekend

Where to start....Angela and I decided to try and get an early start on the weekend and ended up flying stand-by on a 4:30 flight. We arrived and made it to our hotel-starving! After asking the bus driver for a good place to eat we found ourselves as Ginos. The deep dish Chicago style pizza was all that and more. YUMMY!
The next morning we were off and running at 8:30. Headed down town with no particular place in mind we found a great hole-in-the-wall breakfast diner and ate bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches. It was freezing outside and the wind was blowing a gale. This set us on a hunt for beanies. You would think that we would be able to find one pretty easily, but no, I guess Spring was in the air because it took most of the morning to locate a hat. By the way, a great place to shop, we found out is H & M. Way Cool!
We walked around and looked in several shops. Butterfinger was doing a promotion and Angela and I gladly stopped for a picture, who knows we might just be famous some day. (Yah right)
After a look around Wrigley Field and a picture we set out for the theater where James would be.
We arrived exactly 4 hours before doors open. Did I mention it was freezing? thankfully Angela had been chatting with some die-hard JB fans on the message board and we were able to meet up with them in line and ended up having a blast waiting. We even got to see an authentic Umpa Lumpa!

Finally, it was show time. We raced in and right up to the front. After the opening bands, "A Boy Least likely To" and "Sierra Swan," JB himself made is grand appearance. His music was great and he is actually quite the entertainer. Needless to say, Angela was very happy, and I was super glad I came with her to see him. After the concert we waited outside the back stage door, twenty minutes later JB came out and we were able to snap a picture and get an autograph!!!
We were so tired from standing so long. We went back to the hotel and crashed. The next morning we went to Lincoln Park and ate the perfect Chicago style hotdogs. It was AWESOME!

We tried to get on an early flight but with 90 people flying stand-by we decided people watching was a nice way to wait. On our way to the gate I saw Hildi, from Trading Spaces. At first I wasn't sure if that was her or not but we followed her to the bathroom and when she came out we spoke with her. It was pretty cool. We watched Pride and Prejudice on Angela's enormous laptop and made it home safely.

It was a great weekend. I needed the break and I am so glad Angela asked me to go. We shared many laughs and giggles. Thanks a million girl, you are the best!

Goodbye Dallas.....Hello Chicago!

In about 7 hours, Angela and I will be leaving on a jet plane to the great city of Chicago. What makes this city so great? Is it the fact that James Blunt will be there? Or maybe because it is home to Oprah? or maybe it is great because it is NOT Dallas. I think I am more excited to have a girls weekend than anything else. I am super excited and I will have lots of pics to share when I get back.

Mr. James Blunt himself.

My goal for the summer.
Hopefully all the hours I have been putting in at the gym will pay off. I think this is so cute and I want to be able to wear it. Ok-not just wear it but look like her as well.

Just let me brag....Just this once!

Wow! Ok so I will not do this very often. I know everyone thinks their kid is the cutest, smartest, most adorable...(you get it) but Conan is really blowing my mind lately. He is 16.5 months old and he can tell me what all the animals say, he knows his shapes, he can count to 3 in Spanish, and today when I asked him what color was my shirt he said "purple," not once but every time I asked him. He is like Sponge Bob-spongy! He is soaking this stuff right up. I guess all the hours of Dora, Blues Clues, and Backyardagains is starting to pay off.
I hope I can find enough stuff to keep him stimulated. This is proving to be more of a challenge than I though. Thank goodness for the internet. I am constantly getting activity ideas off the net. I can't wait for summer when we can spend hours outside, at the pool, or at the park.
I think Conan got everything from his Dad, looks, brains, and hopefully his athetiscm.

Ok I am done.

Pool!

This is sort of a late post but o-well. Last Wednesday Chris and I went to Dave and Busters to play pool and watched a movie. I have never really played pool, so that was new and exciting for me. Chris is actually pretty good and we had a nice time. It was fun to get sway and do something together. We ended up watching The Hills Have Eyes, very scary! I almost got up and left, but we stayed to the end.
Spring break went by quickly. Poor Chris studied the whole time. This semester is really killing him. He is taking two hard classes and working full time, not to mention I want most of his time when he is home, needless to say, he is stretched pretty thin. We are both looking forward to the end of this semester.
I am really excited for Easter this year. I am taking the kids pictures and we are having a big Easter egg hunt. I think I am more excited than anyone. Spring is almost here and we can't wait!

Barnyard Buddies

We had such a great time at Barnyard Buddies in Plano on Wednesday. Conan and Taylor both loved the animals. Conan has no fear and will stick his little hands right up to the animals to feed them. He got to ride a horse, which was way to cool. and he scremaed "Yee Haw" the whole time. We will for sure go back for some more.

Rylee girl

What a pretty girl, and I love those eyes!

Fort Worth ZOO!

Fort Worth ZOO!

We had an awesome time at the Zoo on Saturday. It ended up being really hot and it felt great to be outside. I think the kids had a good time as well. Conan's favorite part was the petting zoo. It was not the best petting zoo by far but he loved it. We rode the train which the kids liked...even Taylor.

I got pockets Mama!

Conan was sick today and threw up twice, however, he seemed to be feeling better this afternoon. His new discovery today is pockets. He stuck his hotweheel cars in his pockets and proudly ran around the corner into the office to show me. He was really excited. I guess now I will have to check his pockets before I wash his clothes. Who knows what I will find.

Reflection

2 days old-going home from the hospital. He still drags that blankie around.
A very rare quiet moment in the swing with my favorite Robeez on.
Here he is at 2 weeks with his head up looking around. He has always been very strong.
I was just having some reflections today and was a little sad. Conan is now 16 months old and I wonder where my baby is? I love watching him grow and learning new things everyday. It is hard to believe how quickly they change. I love this little boy!
