Sweetest baby ever. We are so blessed.

This may seem sort of corny but the other night at dinner, Chris and I were talking about how fun life can be sometimes. Even when we are doing nothing we are always laughing and having fun. I am not a profound person really, however a thought popped into my head that I have been thinking about all week. What we do in our everyday living, our day in and day out routine is making future memories. In 30 years Chris and I will look back remembering, laughing, crying at all the small things we did that we thought didn't matter. I have been working on trying to see the good in everything and to let the little things slide. I want my future memories to be the best ones. Life is certainly challenging right now but hey, that's how we grow. Right?!
How bad can it be when I get to hold my baby girl everyday, kiss my son and teach my teenager that life really is not so bad and lay down at night beside the man of my dreams.
Yep, life is GOOD.

She is so happy and so easy to make smile. I love seeing her personality develop. She is so content and loves to be held and loved on. I don't mind either.

Since Kolbie has such cute hair I hardly ever put hats on her. I just had to put whole outfit together and then laugh. I think she looks like a jailbird!!

WOW! The kids are getting so big so quickly. We are enjoying the new addition and spending time together as a family of 5. It is hard to imagine life without Kolbie, seems like she has always been with us even though she is just 8 weeks old today. Conan is loving his school and it really gives him something that is just his. He has made a great friend who he talks about all the time. Taylor is busy with school and is looking forward to Spring Break.

This morning after Chris made us a yummy breakfast we decided to make a home studio in our living room and take some shots of the kids. Of Course I think they are the cutest kids ever and they take great pictures. I am so proud of all of them, makes me love being a Mother. I have so much to be thankful for and appreciate in my life. We are not perfect but we are a family.

Our baby girl is 7 weeks today.
I am still wondering where the time has gone?

We took some pictures of us with the baby. She was awake with Chris and asleep for me. She loves her daddy and smiles at him all the time. I also think she is looking more like him everyday.

I can't believe Kolbie has been here with us for 5 weeks now. She is such an awesome baby and I just can't seem to get enough of her. She is smiling at us and I am totally smitten with her. Conan loves to play with her on her mat and calls her "sugar baby" Taylor is great to help out and hold her when I need to get stuff done. I am so grateful for my wonderful family and awesome friends. I am trying so hard to cherish every moment of Kolbie's infancy. I really thought that life would be way to busy to be able to sit and love on her, but I have found that I am spending more time with her and I want to remember every second of her precious life. It is truly humbling to be a mother and watch your kids have a relationship with each other.

I love the month of February! Valentines' day is just around the corner and it is my favorite holiday. I am trying my best to get the baby's birth announcements out soon.

It all happened so fast that I am having a hard time remembering it all. I will have her birth story up soon but for now here is are some pictures of the event.

We are all so in love with her and think she is the best little baby ever. She sleeps so well and is eating good. I can't get over her how much hair she has and her gorgeous twinkling blue eyes. If every birth and every baby was like Kolbie, I would have three more!

We are home, happy and healthy! I am so amazed at how easy taking care of Kolbie is...she is an AWESOME baby. She sleeps well, eats like a champ and has the most beautiful eyes. WOW.
I am ready to feel 100%,. it is hard for me to sit and watch everyone else doing what I should be doing but I know that will come soon enough.

For now I sit and watch my family and know that I am so blessed.

Thanks everyone for all the well wishes. I appreciate everything. I have some amazing friends that I could not live without.

Kolbie Hope Cassidy

Kolbie is here and perfect in every way!

She weighed 7lbs, 4oz and was 19 1/2 inches long.

She was born December 28th at 6:16 pm (3 weeks early!!!)

Her Daddy is smitten and the kids love having her here. I have so much to say but right now all I can do is hold her and stare at her so the rest will have to wait. I have a few more pictures to share.

Thanks eveyone for all the wonderful texts, calls, and messages, we feel very loved and more than blessed.

36 week comparison

Like I said, here is the comparison picture at 36 weeks. I took the picture in the same purple shirt and tried to be in the same position. Based off of the photos, I am sticking out much further with baby K than I did with Conan. Also, I have noticed that pregnancy makes this Mama swell in the face. These are certainly not the best photographs, so lets just focus on the belly!!! Three more weeks, or 21 days and we get to hold her in our arms!!!

Fluffy Bunny

I think with your second child what makes the experience so special is watching your other children anticipate the arrival. Conan is so sweet and sincere when he talks about his new little sister. Taylor gave me a big hug today and said she was so excited to get to hold her when she comes out. I think the bond siblings have is so special and I am amazed watching my kids interact. I know what it feels like to be a sibling but to see it from a mother's perspective has really opened my heart.

We took Conan to Build a Bear this weekend and let him create a stuffed animal for his new sister to give her at the hospital. (Baby K is secretly working on her gifts to Conan and Taylor) He enjoyed the process and has taken good care of "fluffy bunny" since we brought her home. He even sets her in the crib in the sleep position thingy to keep her safe.

Conan has his sibling class tomorrow night and is eager to learn all about being a "big brother"

Slowly I am getting all of baby K's stuff up and put together. Having little baby stuff scattered throughout the house is really starting to make her existence more concrete. She is coming and she is coming soon! I am wanting Christmas to get here and get gone so I can get my house back to normal and finish getting ready. However, I am still trying to enjoy the holidays. She is a busy little muffin and gets the hiccups all the time.

Anyway, here are a few pictures I took this week of her crib and whatnot. The lighting was supper bad so the color is off. O-well you get the idea.

Here we are at 34 weeks and 3 days. I look so different with her than I did with Conan. I will have to post a comparison picture next time!

Same Santa - different place. I love this Santa and this will be the 4th year Conan has had his picture taken with him. I think it is so fun to see how much he changes with each year. Conan has never been afraid of Santa and looks forward to seeing him each year. He asked for Star Wars guys and a rocking pair of Heelys! Tylor decided not to get her picture taken this year...I wonder why not. :)

I cannot wait. We are putting up our tree this weekend and then next weekend we are making our traditional cookies we make every year.

This was taken 2 weeks ago when I was 30 weeks. Man o Man do I feel large and not so much in charge. This sweet pea is giving me a run for my money. She is very active which I love. I love feeling her inside and the kids like it when she gets the hiccups because they can feel them. I am however getting quite uncomfortable. (normal, I know..i just want to complain) I almost have her room set up and I have my list of stuff still to get. I am actually starting to get a little bit nervous thinking about the c-section and brining home another newborn. It is all a bit overwhelming and thank God I have so many wonderful people willing to help! Okay baby K, only a few more weeks so hang in there!

I don't even know where to start in trying to express how much this baby shower and having everyone share this special time with me meant. I appreciate my hostesses that pulled together a fabulous totally "Katie" party! They got my style down to a tee and even had bottled orange and strawberry crush... it was beautiful. You guys rocked and I am forever grateful.

I loved having each and every guest present and I appreciate the generous gifts everyone gave baby K. She is already one spoiled little princess. This year has been extremely challenging for Chris and I and to have the love and support of so many wonderful people is completely overwhelming.

Thank you so much! I will always remember this time.

Conan's 4th Birthday Party!

This year for his birthday we had a "superhero" gymnastics party. Cool thing about having it here - you just show up and they do all the work!!! The kids loved it. We had a great party host that had the kiddos all in stitches and kept them busy. Now that Conan is 4 he is so fun to watch and see him function independently. He is such a social butterfly and loves hanging out with his buddies. Thanks everyone for coming out and playing with us, we had a blast.

Perfect vision and hearing and is verbally and cognitively advanced for his age.

We could not be more proud of our little superhero!

One of my photography clients makes custom action figures of all sorts. He is amazing and part of a barter deal I worked out with him, he agreed to make a superhero figure based on our son.
We call Conan, "triple C" (Conan Christopher Cassidy) so we created a character jsut for him.

Did he not do an amazing job?
This will sit behind glass on Conan's dresser.

We are counting on Taylor coming home anytime now and I wanted to surprise her with a room make over! I am hoping that it will feel like a "fresh" start and a cool place for her to hang out. I know she will want to add her own flare to the room but I hope she is happy with the start. I still need to get some sort of window treatment and a rug, but for now I am done. I am really proud of her and the progress she has made and we are looking forward to our family being together again!

Whew! This little muffin is already a handful! Everything about my pregnancy this tie is different. Harder!!!!

I am already starting to swell, which didn't happen with Conan until the last month. I can't freaking breath and I am so tired! O-well I keep telling myself how blessed I am to have a baby on the way and the end result is SO worth it.

We checked out the new Toys R US / Babies R Us this morning and got to see Spiderman in person. Conan was thrilled. I was also able to check out all the adorable baby stuff.

My sister will be here in about 15 days!!! Conan will turn 4 in a couple of weeks and I am so excited for the upcoming family visits. We get to spend the day with Taylor tomorrow and hopefully she will be home soon. :)

23 weeks and kicking

Been awhile since I have posted a baby update! We are now 23.5 weeks along. She is an active little booger and I am enjoying feeling her jab the crap out of insides. Funny how different my pregnancies have been. Conan moved a lot as well only it felt like he was rolling around in jello. This baby is a jabber. She kicks my bladder, then my ribs, my back and anything else that gets in her way. I know exactly when she is awake and playing.

I can't believe we are already at 6 months. It has gone by so fast and it is so much fun watching Conan get "into" this whole little sister thing. I still have a ton of stuff to try and finish before she gets here.

A and A and my sis have been working on my baby shower and man am I getting excited. I didn't have an official shower with Conan so this experience is new and thrilling. I feel very lucky to get to share this experience with so many great people.

I am also full swing into planning Conan's 4th birthday party. We are having lots of company and it should be an awesome time! O and I love the month of October, I plan on doing some fun Halloween stuff with Conan!

We had a good visit with Taylor yesterday and it was nice seeing her. :)

I was sick all weekend and somewhere in there Conan got this big idea to make a blueberry pie. So, today we got out the stuff and made us some pie!!! I have discovered my son loves to cook. Well, should I say that anything that looks like a weapon...(spoons, whisks, etc..) is fun to do. He actually helped quite a bit. I love this age, he gets super excited about stuff and can participate on such a mature level. Makes me a little sad really! :)

You should have seen his face when we rounded the corner and the characters came into view. Yikes, he was so excited. I wasn't sure how he would react. I wasn't to worried, I mean my kid knows no stranger. But still, their presence was pretty cool. he walked right up and shook their hands and turned to pose for me! Yay! Ever get those moments where you fill so full of love and pride that you feel like your gonna burst? Well, I had one of those today and I think I will remember it forever. I love being a mom to a little boy. Conan is so full of life and love it makes me swell. Chris and I both had such a blast at his first t-ball game tonight and we can't wait for the next one! I am so glad I get to be a part of such an awesome little guy! (Oh and his Dad, he is about the best coach out there, at least in my opinion and we all know that I am not the least bit biased. :)

Here are a few from the Dallas Children's Museum we went to on Labor Day. Conan loved diggin for bones and all the cool interactive activities.

GIRL GIRL GIRL!!!

Its official our baby bean is a girl and Chris and I couldn't be more thrilled.
She was all waves and and wiggles at our ultrasound this morning. We promptly stopped at Target and bought our first baby girl stuff on the way home.

Conan is a blanket boy and he took his job of picking his sister's blanket very serious!
I think he did great. He picked the polka dot one because, well he has a spot blankie as well. We are almost half way there and now that I know what I am having the shopping FUN begins!!

So Chris' Aunt Mae turned 80 in the blistering August heat! Her family threw her an awesome party at a beautiful mansion in Houston. It was a fast trip for us but fun as well. Happy birthday Aunt Mae!

So last night Chris and I were watching Lost after a wonderful concert, and I felt the sweet bean wiggle inside me. I was elated. I will never get tired of that feeling.

I have always been much better with expressing myself visually rather than with words and every time I feel like I need to say something special - I struggle.

I love my husband very much. My life is amazing with him and I know I am loved unconditionally. PERIOD. I feel safe, protected, honored, loved, respected and valued. He makes me feel like I am the best best mother, wife and friend. I could not ask for my life to be any different. When I was a kid dreaming about my future this is so much better than anything I could come up with. We are taking steps together to build a life for us and our children and I couldn't be more thrilled.

Tomorrow will be 5 years that we said I Do and we are right where we are supposed to be. TOGETHER!

This would be us last year on the beach in Cozumel soaking up the sun....

...and this would be us this year, waiting impatiently to see who will be joining our family in a few short months. I am so excited to hold and love Christopher's tiny baby that is growing inside me.

I love you baby and this is just the beginning!

If these aren't the coolest glasses you have ever seen then you are totally missing out! He was so excited to watch this movie (Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D) and loved all the cool stuff that "came out" at us. I would glance over at him and ever once in a while and he would peek over the tops of his glasses just to see the difference. Cracked me up. My kid is turning into a real movie buff.

I wanted to give a shout out to the best grandma ever! I love her and miss her something fierce. It is her birthday today and I wanted her to know that we are thinking about her and will eat some cake in her honor.

Your first baby is always going to be a special time. Everything is so new and wonderful. I questioned how I would feel the second time around but when I saw her wiggling inside me on the screen and Conan squeal with excitement, I nearly burst.

It is just as beautiful as the first time.

I cried afterwards in the car thinking that I am so lucky to be able to love and hold 2 amazing kids and one of them is the size of a peach!!! I am trying to enjoy every second of this pregnancy as it may be my last. I want to remember every movement, every day of having her so close to me.

We attended a Beach party at the pool on Thursday. Man it was hot and fun. Conan and Jake had fun swimming together and eating green cupcakes. The party favors were a huge hit.

As a reward for helping me clean the house Conan got to pick a toy out. Chris and Conan went to Wal-mart and came home with a set of cap guns! He had a bast chasing the neighbor girls up and down the street. He plays the role well even knows to blow the smoke from the end of the gun.

He makes me smile....everyday.

28th bithday and 12 weeks

I had a great birthday yet again. Every year when it rolls around I get this yucky feeling wash over me because I know the number is creeping closer to 30!! Yikes. Chris made me my favorite meal and surprised me with Celine Dion tickets. Yeah! The kids got me some earrings and sunglasses with a sweet card. I received wonderful phone calls from friends and family that really made me feel loved. Thanks so much everyone.

We had a great 4th in Stillwater. Conan absolutely loved shooting off fireworks with Chris and the show at the lake was so neat. I can't believe this but I forgot my camera and have nothing to show for the trip.

I am SO VERY HAPPY to say that I think morning sickness is gone for good. I feel so awesome and the list of stuff I have to do is loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong. Time to play catch up.
We have another ultrasound on Monday for a first trimester screening and not another one until I am 18 weeks to see what little body parts this one will have.

Life is good.

Baseball Baby!!!!

Even though Conan misses the age cutoff for baseball this fall they ARE GOING TO LET HIM PLAY!!!!!!

I am so excited...and so is the boy!

Chris has been working with him on catching throwing batting etc. He can throw over hand about halfway across our backyard, he can catch the ball with a glove most of the time and he can hit the ball to the fence. I am so proud of him. Chris and I are both very eager to watch him play and hope he enjoys the game. Baseball in the fall and then Chris is going to sign him up for wrestling in the Spring. I must say that Conan is thrilled about the wrestling. We watch a lot of UFC in our house so it only makes since that he would want to fight.

Here are a few pictures I forgot to post from our camping trip. Conan used the metal lid as a shield and we took foam swords....he was in little boy heaven.

The next pictures are Chris and Conan actually riding the tube! He was not too thrilled about it but got through it. He would much rather just swim.

10 weeks

After a week from hell, I am feeling fairly decent today (hence the picture that looks like I was dragged behind a truck). We had a Doctor's appointment last week and we even got to hear the heartbeat as well. Everything looks good and we go back in a month. I had a wonderful friend lend me a ton of maternity clothes and I am ever so grateful. I think I should be set!!!

Here's to hoping morning sickness is just about done with me.

Conan went bowling for the first time on Friday and he seemed to really enjoy it. We have been sick with the stomach flu at our house and therefore I am completely behind on EVERYTHING. I need a solid week of feeling good to catch up and get even.

A little on the warm side but a lot on the fun side! We had a good time camping this last weekend. C bought a boat and we were able to play in the water, tube and just relax. Chris is an awesome campfire chef let me tell you. He made pineapple upside down cake in a dutch oven. Breakfast burritos and C made chicken bacon potato pockets. We were well fed. Best thing-Chris did all the dishes. I think we would love to go again but with my belly getting bigger and the heat getting hotter a late fall trip is in the plans.

...you find out your life is about to change yet again. IN A GOOD WAY.

We were surprised/thrilled to find out we are expecting another baby.

We told the kids and they are really excited. Conan calls it his baby. I am really excited however, I am fighting morning sickness with everything I have. It is much worse this time around. Chris and I went in for our first ultrasound this morning and got to see thumper in there and hear the heartbeat. Even though I have done this before I am surprised at how excited I got today. I am due January 18th 2009, and in order for Conan to comprehend how far away that was we told him the baby will get here after Christmas, to which he replied with the baby get any presents? I told him no because thumper won't be here till after. His response..."how sad." I am already much bigger in the tummy this time and my pants are tight. Yikes!

My big sister turns the big 30!!!!! today. I am sad that she is in Kuwait and we can't celebrate together. Sex in the City opens today and I think that would have made a great celebration. O-well. we will party like rock stars when she comes for a visit.

I had a great time when I went out there and I can't believe she is 30. It was only yesterday we were fighting like cats and dogs on road trips and I really knew how to bug the hell out of her!

Makeshift Camping

We are planing a "real" camping trip next weekend with C and L and mentioned it to Conan. Well, that has sparked a new interest and yesterday the kids asked me if I would take them camping. Here is what I came up with

1. small pop up school house tent thing he has had for several years.
2. His lime green chairs from IKEA.
3. 4 marshmallows stuck on a stick.

this produced some serious giggles and about 45 min of play. YEAH !!!

Happy would totally be an understatement. Conan was so excited that he couldn't even eat his dinner. He sat with his eyes wide open on the edge of his seat the whole time. Mother's Day and other happenings

I feel like I haven't posted in a while. I had a good Mother's Day. We ate at Rock Fish for lunch and the kids got me some new sun glasses! ( I had left mine at the park during a session last weekend and I have desperately missed them) After nap, we all went to see Iron Man. It was good and we had a fun time.

Saturday we went to CW kid's birthday and it was quite the PARTY! Conan wore himself out in the bounce house and left on a sugar high after consuming the cutest (largest) cupcake ever.

So today we entered the wonderful world of super heroes all in a class of their own! It was really neat to see the firefighters interact with the kiddos and they were so patient to put up with the not-so-patient kids. Conan wasn't sure what to do first, check out the uniforms, the truck or the workout machines they had. LOL. I thoroughly enjoyed myself as much as Conan. They have such an important job and I hope Conan sees them as super heroes! Here are a few pictures from the day!

This movie was actually really good! It had a fairly decent story line and the characters played their roles nicely. The only negative thing I can think of was there was not enough story at the beginning. They could have really given the viewer much more background at the start that would have been helpful.

Go see it, or rent it, whatever.

Pure Happiness

I have never seen my kid want and work for something so bad. We saw this Conan action figure at Wal-Mart a few weeks ago and just about died. Just in case any of you didn't know this, my Conan watches Conan the Destroyer/Barbarian every other day! He loves it and he has most of it memorized, he even hums the theme song when we are driving in the car. Imagine my excitement when we happened upon this little gem. It cost $17.89. and I wanted Conan to earn money to purchase it himself. HE DID. Any time I asked him to pick up his toys- it was done before I could turn around his little hand was outstretched waiting for his quarters. I was really proud of his diligence and the fact that he understood enough at the time that we would have to come back to and purchase it when he had the money.

Today he helped me count out all his quarters and we headed to the store. I so wish I had my video camera to capture his face as we picked it out and he payed for it. PRICELESS!!! He has not set it down since we got home.

Sprimmer!

Sprimmer is the time between Spring and Summer when the weather can't make up its mind and it is almost impossible to plan anything outside-including photo session!!! Ugh. We have still managed to have a good weekend. Yesterday Chris and I mowed the lawn and Conan played with some friendly worms. Chris and Conan also managed to find my vacuum attachments and ended up in a sword fight in the driveway. Conan was fascinated by their shadows on the fence. He told me that he looked like Peter pan.

Chris started playing softball with a McKinney team and Conan and I were able to go watch him play the other night. The weather was great and I even managed to snap a few pictures of him when he wasn't looking. I am hoping we can play on a co-ed team next Spring. :)

Last night Chris and I went to a going away party for a wonderful woman I met through another friend. We ended up staying and chatting for a few hours and had a great time. The woman who hosted the get together was a great cook and we ate pulled pork, beans, col slaw, pickles and red velvet cake. It was a fun evening.

Tomorrow is Monday and that means we hit the gym first thing in the morning. I am really liking the workouts and Conan is happy in the play area.

life in the fast lane

Seems like we have been going a mile a minuet for the last week. Conan failed his 3rd year hearing test in his left ear and when I got back from Kuwait I noticed that I am having to repeat everything I say to him. We have an appointment with the ENT next week to get him all checked out. He also has his first dentist appointment tomorrow which he is totally excited about. I love how he is not afraid of stuff like that, makes it so much easier, not sure what I would do if he was terrified. All around I have a pretty awesome kid. He cleaned the entire living room this evening with hopes of a few quarters. Hell yeah that was worth some quarters!

We are all excited that summer is almost here and we can hit the pool. It is fun to hang out there with out route 44 Sonic drinks and waste the afternoon in the water. CANNOT WAIT!

I miss Cassy and Rylee and Khaled. It has been hard coming back. Don't get me wrong, I was super excited to see my family but I have had a heavy heart and wish we were closer. She is so happy right now and that means more to me than most of you will ever know. Love you Cassy!

These would be the little guys that guard my house from the "bad guys" Not exactly who I would call in time of need but hey, he's three.

Now for a dose of Kuwait.

Cassy takes me to this place and we are literally driving along downtown Kuwait and she pulls over to the curb and this guy comes out and she lets him know what we want. For the life of me I can't remember what this stuff is called but for now we will just refer to it as freaking awesome stuff in a tortilla. I whipped out my camera to take a picture of the chicken on the stick and the guy was posing for me, it was adorable. When our order was ready he brought it to the car and wouldn't give it to me until I had shown him the pictures. Too funny!

btw-inside the tortilla is chicken, mayo, pickles, parsley, and french fries all mixed up.

Biggest Burger King I have ever seen.

At the top of the Kuwait Towers was this man making the most incredible sand sculptures. He made one for us while we were standing there. He was super sweet and his work is amazing.
(i thought you might like my choice of descriptive word, cassy! wink wink)

Taylor had to do a school project involving flowers and pictures. Well lucky her I happen to know just a little bit about that so we ran around town trying to find the right wildflowers to photograph. It was fun and her project turned out good.

What a trip! Part 1 Rylee's Birthday and Dubai

I have a fabulous time in Kuwait visiting my sister and niece along with meeting my new brother-in-law. (Awesome addition to our family and I can't wait for Chris and the kids to meet him!) I am fighting jet lag a bit but have to share my trip with you.

I have so many exciting, neat, interesting, happy, funny and great things to share that I will have to post in parts. This one is all about Rylee's 4th Birthday and Dubai. I will let the pictures do most of the talking. It was a princess/pirate themed birthday and man was it a party. There was face painting, jugglers, dancers, magician, rides, pizza, cake, and presents galore! She was such a cutie and loved every minuet of her big day! Later that day when I called home to talk to chris Rylee told him that she go the hook up with all the bd prsents she got. Cracked us up!

This would be our hotel in Dubai, and as it happened they messed up our room some how and we got bumped to the presidential suite!! Holy smokes, that baby was kicking. We relaxed by the pool, hung out and did some major chilling. It was perfect. Rylee and I had a blast swimming in the pool and spending time together.

Dubai is a rich country and the airport was no exception. All the clocks on the wall were Rolex. Go figure.

On my last day before going home Cassy, Rylee and I went to the Kuwait Towers. A must see if you visit the country. You can ride up in the elevator and the ball at the top has an observation deck that rotates. We had some fun with that.

We had another great holiday this Easter. One of my Mom's play group had an Easter egg hunt at the park on Friday and Taylor was the guest Easter Bunny. ( I have a picture below) She did a great job and I appreciated her dressing up for the kids. I have some great black mail pictures for later. :) We took the kids to see Horton Hears a Hoo on Saturday and absolutely loved it. Conan giggled the whole time and I think this is going to be one we purchase when it comes out. Saturday evening we dyed our eggs, something Conan takes very seriously and has down to a fine science. He could do this all day everyday. Sunday morning we hunted eggs then headed off to church and then Uncle Corey met us for lunch. Corey sweet girlfriend gave the kids the cutest chocolate bunnies with really long ears, Conan wasted no time digging right in!

We also received a phone call from Uncle Cole. He joined the Army in January and Conan misses him like crazy. It was great to chat with him and see how things were going at basic training.

I am getting super excited to see my sister and my niece and meet my new Brother-in-law! Only 17 more days and this chick is on a plane to Kuwait!!

Weekly Movie Review

Rambo!

We are just now getting around to watching this movie. It was a the $1.00 theater last night so thats where we went. I actually enjoyed this movie way more than I thought I would. Sylvester is a class act and at 60 - WOW what an amazing body! He was very believable and there was a decent story line. I think at this point you should rent it, unless you want to find an obscure theater somewhere that still happens to be playing it.

Oh and as far as AI (American Idol), hello why is Kristy Lee Cook still there? A little disappointed after the show last night...does anyone else agree with me?

Easter is almost here, and early.

It has rained HARD all day long. It was the perfect day to stay in ( in our jammies) and do some fun Easter stuff. First Conan and I dyed a few eggs, just because we wanted to. We will really dye eggs this weekend when Taylor gets back and everyone can participate. Then we made a gazillion strawberry and chocolate cupcakes for an Easter party that will probably get canceled due to the rain. Chris and I had homemade egg drop soup and crispy noodles for lunch and enjoyed stying in out of the rain. I still need to do some more shopping for the holiday and I am sure by the time I get around to it everything will be gone. I guess thats what I get for waiting until the last min.

I told Conan that I wanted some St. Patty Day pictures with his "Mom's Lucky Charm" shirt and he said ok only if Dad can hold me. Sure, whatever. Taylor is spending Spring Break with her friend in Glavaston so she was unable to get int he pics with her matching shirt. I am sure she isn't heartbroken. I guess its just not so cute anymore when your 15. She is having fun so thats what matters. We ate a yummy, non-Irish lunch at San Miguels that was oh-so-tasty and now I feel as if I should drink some green beer or fry us up some green eggs. I read Conan that story for the first time last night and he loved it. He giggled through the entire reading. :) I hope everyone has a wonderful and KISS SOMEONE!!!

Ms. C, her son, Conan and I went to the Pirate Themed McDonalds yesterday. It was super cool and the boys loved it. Only one little episode where Conan was trying to reach something and fell, busted his nose and it bleed. He wasn't down for long and was back to playing shortly. I really really really enjoyed tis movie. The story is moving and full of emotion. I love how they used no-named actors and it felt like I was able to connect with them and they seemed to be more believable in their role. I would watch this again, only with a box of tissues nearby.

A Beautiful March Day!

I was working this afternoon and in walks my sweet hubby with the most gorgeous bouquet of flowers and the biggest smile on his face. It really made my day! Thank you baby. (they are my favorite color to boot). I really needed that and I appreciated them more than he knows.

My bargain deal of the day....a pair of 9$ "Car" crocks from payless. HE LOVES THEM, had to pry them off his feet to put him in the tub. Who would have thought? Conan is not even a big Cars fan, he likes the movie okay but it certainly is not his favorite. It really surprised me how much he liked them.

He loves berries and he brings them to me all the time. He even made a tent for them out of leaves. My kid is so weird and man do I love him.

Weekly Movie Review

I think it will be fun to go back and read years down the line, or cringe to think of the money we pour into the theater. O-well, we love it so here goes. I will try and get there out sooner like the day after we see it but this week I was blessed with Strep.

....no I am NOT preggo. We added the sweetest baby bunny to out family today. Her name is Ruby. She is going to be the star in my first Easter session tomorrow. We are going to be pictures partners for the next month in honor of Easter. I am offering her as a model for my clients if they so choose to use her. Conan likes to talk to her and stick his fingers in her cage, but was not so keen on holding her. Kind of surprised me...o-well probably safer for Ruby. Oh and by the way she was named after the cartoon Max and Ruby. Conan was hoping for a Max...

The biggest challenge we faced on this snowy day was finding enough warm clothes to keep warm. As you can see from the pictures Conan had to wear his froggy gloshes as snow boots!!! He loved it. The hot chocolate was the perfect beverage to sip with our breakfast. I am so happy for Conan's sake that he got experience snow today and I hope my fellow Texans get just as much enjoyment.

I think my son almost wet his pants when we looked outside this morning at the beautiful white snow!!!! Conan had seen a cartoon before christmas about all the fun you can have in the snow and he has asked me almost every day if we were ever going to see snow in Texas. Thank goodness we are going to have at least one day!!!! So here is to a wonderful snow day!!!

We have been some party fools lately! Conan always has such a good time and everyone throws such great parties. Today we went to Matthews 3rd BD at the gymnastics place. ROCK On! Conan got to run, jump, chase, bounce, swing, to his hearts content. One thing I love about this age is that he is old enough and understand well enough that I don't have to hold his hand all the time. It was bittersweet getting to watch from the sidelines. (this allows me to have my camera in hand all the time) He did just what the coach/party host guy asked him to do and he followed instructions and waited his turn! I was really proud of him. I think I am going to sign him up for classes soon. The little guy is a fearless monkey just begging to play!! Happy Birthday Matthew, we had a great time.

Valentine's Day Party

We had the opportunity to go to a V-Day party on Friday and it was so sweet. The host did a great job with everything and the little valentine bags the kids made were adorable. I just love this time of year...almost Spring!!!

This would be what my child does now when I get the camera out to take pictures---he pretends to be asleep. Hello! I only get so many Mama and son pictures, could you at least cooperate once in a while. Geesh.

Awe! So much love today. What a blessing. Chris and I went to PF Chang's and a movie last night and then we exchanged gifts with the kids this morning. It was fun! When Chris and I got home last night the kids (Taylor really) had cleaned the house completely. It was immaculate. Can't tell you how nice it was to come home to that not to mention if was really thoughtful on her part. They also made us a poster that was hanging on the wall (picture below). We have good kids and hopefully they know how much we love them!

Chris and I will celebrate Valentine's Day tomorrow to try and avoid the holiday crowd and I wanted to post this today because I have the time.
Valentine's Day is my favorite holiday by far. Only now it has such profound meaning. I am so lucky to have found "my Valentine." What comfort, love, passion, peace I have knowing he will always be there for me no matter what.
I also just wanted to say that having a son ask you to be his Valentine is a moment I will treasure forever. The love we share is awesome.

We ate at Gatti Pizza today for lunch and Conan asked to get a treat from the quarter machine. So we did...I dont' really consider this a treat, however, we laughed our butts off all the way home. My favorite holiday is almost here and I can't wait. I have to hold myself back when I go to Target and Wal-Mart or I will buy one of everything just because it is cute. We made melted crayon heart sun catchers the other day. Lots of love to everyone this year..make it special.

Cade gave Conan his Birthday present yesterday and he has used it all day! It is a great gift and he loves it. I love it the he is so interested in artsy stuff and wants to do "projects" all day. It makes me a little crazy trying to come up with stuff all the time. Thank goodness the kids loves Playdough. Seriously!

Lemonhead crazy

This seems like such a strange post for me...but I have to tell you, these things are gonna be the death of me, Seriously! Let me just start by saying I LOVE LEMONHEADS! Just in case this wasn't clear...I do indeed have a weird insatiable craving for theses deliciously sour/sweet yellow balls of goodness. Next let me say that I eat a box of them every week. Chris and I have a date night once a week and we make a run to Walgreens to pick them up on our way to the theater. It is now almost like a tradition. (the more I write the more this post the more I realize how pitiful I must seem)
Here is the kicker....I am allergic to them to some degree, you see after eating about 6 of them my eyelids start to sweat. Now, we are not talking a little moister, we are talking about drops of sweat! I have to wipe away the sweat multiple times during the consumption of the little darlings. And yet I continue to eat them. I guess until my face swells and my throat closes I will indeed continue to eat them.

You should try them. run now and grab you a box. You can thank me later. :)

Donuts Please!

We got up this morning and everyone had the same idea to go get donuts. It has been awhile since we have gone to the donut shop so we loaded up and headed for Krispy Kream! Man o Man did CCC love it! He would have eaten till he made himself sick, but Mom intervened. I love how simple things really make a kids day. He was fascinated at the whole process, he even said he liked the way this place smelled...imagine!

Before Conan got strep, we started our study of the world and made a paper mache globe. He loved getting all icky sticky. We have it painted now but we I need to take some more pictures. We are learning about China and the Chinese New Year. Today he made paper lanterns. It has been fun teaching him, he asks me all the time if we can do school. I guess I should enjoy the fact that learning is so much fun at this age. I will try and take some more pictures of the globe and the projects we do with each country we study. If anyone has any suggestions please drop me a line!

Trying to get back to normal

I am so far behind in blogging that I am not even going to try and catch up. Well here is a brief run down since Christmas. I got Strep from Hell. Then as a result from the antibiotic had awful stomach crapping and pain, Conan has been sick and I have been trying to get caught up with work and plan Conan's school. So now that I am feeling mostly better I am eager to get back in the swing of things. I am sure Chris is ready for some hot meals and a break form the kids! :)

Soccer season has started for Taylor so that means lots more running around. It should be interesting watching her play for the High School; whole different level than rec.

One more thing, I hope to have my New Years resolution list posted this week. I like to throw it out there just for some accountability. Hope everyone had a great weekend.

We went to a Go Diego Go party on Saturday. Other than Conan not feeling 100% he did manage to have a good time. It was a very cute birthday and it was fun seeing Cade get all excited.

Christmas 2007!

All I can say is THANK YOU SANTA!! We all got what we wanted and then some. I was so shocked to see this sitting by the tree when we got up! Christopher is the best at surprising me with the best gifts. I have been wanting an acoustic guitar for a long time, and well...now I have one. Conan got his Knight Armor and Taylor got her Chi...and the big kid got his Rock Band. Not really fair because we have all had a blast playing it together. That game is totally addicting:) We had a great visit with Granny and Cole and Corey came over as well.

We spent Christmas Eve afternoon at the park running around. THe weather was beautiful and the kids (ALL OF THEM) had fun!
