Good times

Well, another turkey day come and gone. I think this year was by far the best "food" year to date. The food tasted awesome. Chris, his mom and brothers really did a bang up job. We ate way to much as usual. We took the kids to see Happy Feet. VERY CUTE! If you ask him Conan will dance like the penguins, he was not the best kid at the theater but we made it through.

Today is Christopher's Birthday. He ate pecan pie for breakfast and opened his presents. We got him some UFC dvds and a shirt. I think it is so funny that Christopher's favorite meal is turkey and stuffing and how nice that he was born around Thanksgiving. His mom told me this morning that he was born the day before Thanksgiving and she did not get to celebrate or eat dinner with her family because she was stuck at the hospital.

Hope you have many, many more happy birthdays, honey!

We are off to eat Christopher's birthday lunch and then to Tulsa to see his brothers new house and then on to home. Hope everyone had a great holiday!

More birthday fun

Here are a few more pictures of the party.

This is inside the barn seeingthe animals up-close and personal. I think the adults loved it just as much as the kids. It was fun to see their faces when she got each animal out. Leading up to his party if you asked Conan what animal he wanted to see at his party he replied, with a big grin, "big snake!" However, when she showed them him the big snake, the only thing he could say was say and make the sign for, "ALL DONE"
Here the kids are getting more bread to feed the animals.

Keeping at a safe distance.

This is Gabe posing for a country GQ magazine. I swear Gabe, I am turning this into a christmas card!
Brook and Gabe petting a dog. They were so sweet to come and celebrate with us. Thanks guys I loved having you there!
Just another picture of the treats.

A picture of the balloons a certain 2 year old had to have! (maybe it was his mother...can't remember:)
Yes, this is exactly what it looks like. His great grandmother IS giving him a foot rub. If she stopped for a second he would say, "more please" He had fun with her and I am very glad she was able to come with my Mom. Thanks Gee-ma.

Nana always comes bearing gifts. Conan had a blast playing trucks with Nana.

I still can't believe he is 2...and its been 2 weeks since his birthday.

Taylor has a soccer tournament this weekend. I hope to have some pictures to post and hopefully the girls play well. Good Luck!

Biggest Loser

I have not been as faithful to my weight loss plan as I thought I would be. However, after watching Biggest Loser last night, I have a renewed interest in reaching my goal. I hit the gym tonight for a nice long, calorie burning run! Yah me.

You should go look at the before and after pictures. Pretty cool.

If you want to be a pirate say....

yarrr!

Tonight Conan had a fall carnival at his school and got his face painted like a pirate. He walked around sying yarrr all evening. We had a great time.... next year for Halloween he will be a pirate.
Have a good evening me hardies.

"His side"

I have so many pictures to post that I thought I would break it down by families. Yes, we are one big happy family, but you have to start somewhere. We will start with Chris' side. It is smaller and I had time to edit the pictures.
I really appreciated Debbie, Cole and Corey making the drive down to help us celebrate. Conan likes his Uncle Torey and Uncle Tole, and Geenie. Here is a family picture of all of us.
This would be Chris watching Coery kick Cole in the butt.
Enough said.

Corey and Cole with the birthday kids.

I had more pictures but blogger won't post them....I will try later.

2nd Year Well Visit

"A nice healthy big, strong boy." A quote from Dr. Alvis.

Here are his 2nd year stats:
Weight: 31 lbs 9 oz (85%)
Height: 38 in (99%)
Head Circum: 20in (93%)

Conan took a vision test and has perfect vision. This is a good thing. I worried that he would have problems because I had bad eyesight. Dr. Alvis asked if Conan could say 2 word sentences? Hello, he can sing the entire alphabet, tell you your shirt color in spanish, and has Go Dog Go memorized. Yes, I think he can say two word sentences! Dr. Alvis asked this question after Conan just got done telling him about his birthday, in at least 7 word sentences. Anyway, Conan is developmentally beyond where he should be and very healty. I am so proud and pleased. He even got a shot without so much as a squeek. I can't believe I have a 2 year old. Everyday presents new challenges along with imeasurable joy. I can't wait to see what the next has to offer!

I love you sweet Boy.

If I could stop time

IF I COULD STOP TIME...
If I could stop time,
I would stop it when you slept in my arms
in the quiet night
after you drank my milk and drifted
back into a deep sleep of innocence,
your little lips a puckered pout...
You breathed so deeply, your rising chest warm
and solid against my own heart.
I would hold your tiny hand, and let the world stand still
as I pressed the buttery pads of your fingers
and thought about all the moments
they rested on my face
I would softy tell you every story
he told me so many times...
And they would become a part of us.
I would look at your face in the night-light glow,
trace the lines of your ears
and I would kiss them tenderly
as I petted your fuzzy head and
whispered a lifetime of
I love you's
I'm proud of you
My heart is yours
And yours is mine...
If I could stop time.
(I have so much more to post, but for now, just let me say thanks to everyone who celebrated Conan's 2nd birthday. For those of you who were here, it was an honor to have you. For those of you who could not physically be here, we missed you. I have lots more to post......but for now I think we all need a nice long nap!)
