Fort Worth ZOO!

We had an awesome time at the Zoo on Saturday. It ended up being really hot and it felt great to be outside. I think the kids had a good time as well. Conan's favorite part was the petting zoo. It was not the best petting zoo by far but he loved it. We rode the train which the kids liked...even Taylor.

I got pockets Mama!

Conan was sick today and threw up twice, however, he seemed to be feeling better this afternoon. His new discovery today is pockets. He stuck his hotweheel cars in his pockets and proudly ran around the corner into the office to show me. He was really excited. I guess now I will have to check his pockets before I wash his clothes. Who knows what I will find.

Reflection

2 days old-going home from the hospital. He still drags that blankie around.
A very rare quiet moment in the swing with my favorite Robeez on.
Here he is at 2 weeks with his head up looking around. He has always been very strong.
I was just having some reflections today and was a little sad. Conan is now 16 months old and I wonder where my baby is? I love watching him grow and learning new things everyday. It is hard to believe how quickly they change. I love this little boy!

Photo Shoot/Rylee-kate

I can't believe my niece is going to be 2 in a month. We had an unoffical photo shoot today and this is what we got. I love taking her picture. It was pretty cloudy today so the pictures are a little dark, but that seems to be the thing I like most about them.
I love watching you grow Rylee-Kate!

Best Friends

Oh how sweet. Mak Mak came over to play on Saturday and they had a great time. Conan didn't tackle her once, just a few hugs. I love to watch them play together. Conan is very protective of his Mak and watches her closely. Actually, now that I think about it, he is rather bossy.
Taylor, Conan and I went to Ft. Worth to visit with Aunt Cassy and Rylee. We had a nice lunch and watched the "Monkey Show" as Rylee calls it. Conan sat still while he was eating popcorn but as soon as that was gone he was a wiggle worm. I ended up leaving for about 20 min to let him run around the lobby. He did eventually fall asleep and I was able to watch a few minutes myself. We had a nice day and a good visit.
Chris spent the weekend studying, I mean ALL weekend. The poor guy really needs a break. I am super proud of him and his dedication to whatever he is doing.
Well, off to do some major housework.

Thanks Honey!

Thanks sweetheart for a great time last night at the hockey game! This was our first hockey game ever. We had a good time trying to figure out what in the world was going on. I was very impressed at the players skating ability, yes I know they are professionals, but good grief they can skate well. As we were waiting for the game to start, we were looking through the program and I guess I didn't realize how young those boys were. They are practically babies. At one point a player was getting pushed around pretty good by the other team, right in front of us, and I almost stood up and started cussing. I wanted to defend that boy for his Mama. Man, I hope my son does not want to play hockey. Although, he does have a very tough "hockey like" name.
It was nice to get to do something together as a couple other than sleep.
Oh and a big shout out to Sheesha!

what happens when I am not at home

Taylor has no problem keeping the kid entertained when I am not at home. She is always doing something silly with him and he loves it! He actually wanted her to put him to bed the other night. It kind of hurt but then it also made me rest easy knowing he loves her and she takes good care of him. I think I am very lucky to have the kids I have. Oh and for anyone wondering, it might not be a bad idea to have your children 12 years apart. They get along much better and you have a built in babysitter. Wink wink!

How to catch a wild monkey -Part 1

I finally figured out how to catch a wild monkey---YOU DON"T!
I have been running around crazy after my kid for a week now. I swear the day he turned 15 months aliens came and took over his body. He seems stronger now, more verbal, throws fits, hits, and of course big old bear hugs, when your not looking and you end up on the floor. What happened to my calm, quiet, contemplative and sweet baby? Anyway, life is great and very busy. Conan make me very happy even when he is driving me crazy.

I was at the computer and he came around the corner with his shirt over his head and the vacuum attachment in his hand. How does my 15 month old get his shirt like that? I would love to know.
Chris and I have been working out religiously and ordered a case of Speed Stack, well as you can see the monkey boy found it and stuck the bottles everywhere. (No, I do not put speed stack in his sippy cup-just in case you were wondering)
Thanks a million for the Jeep Granny-I LOVE IT!
Oh man, if only Mak Mak knew how much I love her vacuum. Thanks for letting us borrow it!

My Therapy

I decided this is a great way to end my day...Painting. Chris usually studies at night and it gives me a few hours to paint away. I have a station in the office that has all my art stuff and it's like a small piece of heaven for me. I painted this one to go in the dining room. I haven't decided if I want to keep it as is or do something different.

Playing outside

Last Friday we had AWESOME weather. I took Rylee and Conan outside to play and a nice looking cat came up to the kids and was letting them pet her. After about 10 min. I guess she had had enough and scratched both kids on their hands. I made the mistake of saying, "stupid cat" and Rylee spent the rest of the day pointing at the door saying, stupid cat, stupid cat. Here is a shot of our new rent house.

No worries Mom

We have Rylee for a few days and she is doing great! She loves to ride in Conan's jeep out in the backyard. "More Jeep, more jeep" ....all day. At least the weather is nice so we can play outside.

Don't worry Cass, your girl is just fine!

Blankie Baby

My sweet blankie baby. When I see this picture (courtesy of Taylor) I just want to scoop him up and kiss his little face,

So glad they love each other

So my kids love each other. Conan says "bye, bye, bye, Taylor at least 10 times a day while she is at school. Taylor is very eager to play with him when she gets home as well. I am so glad they want to spend time with each other. They remind me of my relationship with my little sister and brother. The normal sibling rivalry is just not there because of the age difference. Taylor has been so sweet to watch Conan every night while Chris and I go work out. I am proud of her and appreciate everything she does. She even bathes him and puts him to bed. AWESOME!

Yummy!

Ladies and gentlemen, this right here is the best cake on the face of the planet. Courtesy of my Grandmother, Peggy. Way to go Gramma!

I actually had a dream about your cake last night. I think I will attempt to make one in Chris' iron skillet this week. Wish me luck.

Man's Work...sort of

Conan and I had a blast out in the backyard today enjoying the nice weather. No matter how many times I show him how to use the mower "correctly" he still thinks you have to pick it up and carry it. Thinking about it later I realized I should chill out and let the poor kid figure how things work for himself. He is certainly allowed some artistic creativity. I am amazed by his sense of wonder and curiosity everyday. I love the fact that he makes me laugh everyday.

Catching up...Florida Trip

Wow! am I behind or what? I know I still need to post about Christmas but that would take to long so I will start with last week. Taylor, Conan and I went to Florida to see my Mom's family last week. We had so much fun! Conan did great on the plane, thank goodness. I was really worried that he would be a little pill.
Taylor and Kendie, my younger sister, had a blast hanging out with each other. They are the same age and get along great. Conan loved my little brother who spent a lot of time playing hot wheels with him.
Conan loved his Papa and Grandma!
It was fun taking the kids to the beach. Conan was happy until he rubbed sand in his eyes and then he was ready to leave. I wish Chris could have gone with us but he had to stay and work. We had a great time and I am glad we were able to go. I have more pictures of Taylor, Kendie and Joe coming...
